The rights are clear. Images made with AI generally can’t be protected by copyright, so anyone can reuse them. Hand-drawn work can, and what you’re allowed to do with it is written in the quote.

How much does a custom illustration cost?

Every project is quoted on its own. The price depends on how many illustrations you need, where they will be used (print, packaging, web, merch) and your deadline. Fill in the quote request on this page and I’ll send you a precise price and timeline.

How long does a custom illustration take?

It depends on the style you choose, the size and the overall project. Send me an email with what you need and I’ll give you a good estimation. If you have a tight deadline, tell me in the brief and I’ll say honestly whether it’s possible.

Do you use AI to create your illustrations?

No. Every illustration is drawn by me, from the first sketch to the final file. Images made with AI generally can’t be protected by copyright, while hand-drawn work can. My AI policy explains how I work.

Can you illustrate in my brand’s existing style?

Often, yes. Send me your brand guidelines or visual references and I’ll tell you whether your style fits how I draw, or suggest another professional that works with your brand.

Do you illustrate book covers for self-published authors?

Yes. I worked with authors and self-publishers on book covers and inside illustrations, from the first sketch to files ready for print and ebook.

Do you work with clients outside the Netherlands?

Yes. I’m based in Groningen but work 100% remotely with clients across Europe and beyond, over email and video calls.

How do I hire an illustrator for my project?

Send me a short brief through the quote form: what the illustration is for, where it will be used and when you need it. We then have a short call if needed, I send a quote, and once it’s approved I start with sketches.

Who owns the copyright of a commissioned illustration?

I keep the copyright as author and you get a license to use the illustration for the purposes we agree, written in the quote. If you need full ownership, a copyright buyout is possible and priced separately.

What kind of illustration do you do?

I illustrate for brands, packaging and labels, magazines and articles, book covers and inside pages, and merch and music such as album covers, posters and stickers. My three main styles are realistic line art, doodles and digital collage.

Do you design packaging and labels, or only the illustration?

Both. I can draw the illustration for your packaging, or design the full label, wrapper or box around it, with print-ready files for your printer. If you need it, let’s talk about it.

What files will I receive?

Vector or high-resolution files depending on the illustration, prepared for print and web, in the sizes and colour settings your printer or developer needs.
